ULI & MARLO, two board athletes from the Ruhr area

We are two friends from the "pot" who love board sports and spend as much time as possible on any board. Whether it's stand-up paddling on the Rhein-Herne-Canal, windsurfing in Holland or on a snowboard in the mountains - if our time allows, we look for balance.

In order to bridge the "dry" times better and not to rust, we had been looking for a suitable balance board for a long time. We wanted to have an authentic and multi-dimensional sequence of movements that comes very close to the freeride feeling on a sow, skate or surfboard. We tested many balance boards, but none of them met our requirements for a perfect ride and glide feeling. The idea for the turtleboard® was born.

We worked on the perfect shape for almost two years, and many prototypes ended up in the bin. The material was a particular challenge: for us, only the raw material wood came into question, as wood is the most environmentally friendly material on this planet. However, conventional veneer did not keep up with the curvature of our prototypes and broke in several places. After a long search, we finally found a special veneer and were able to implement our idea of ​​this unusual shape.
